FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Snap List, the free photo-to-grocery-list app.

Can an app turn a photo of my grocery list into a checklist?

Yes. Snap List reads a photo of a handwritten list, a whiteboard, or a recipe screenshot and turns it into a checkable grocery list grouped by store aisle.

Is Snap List free?

Yes. The free plan includes one list, photo scanning, voice input, syncing across devices, and sharing with one person. Snap List Pro is $3.99 per month or $29.99 per year (CAD), with a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers.

Do I need an account?

No. You can start a list right away without signing up. Sign in with Google or email when you want your list on more than one device.

Can I share a grocery list with my partner or family?

Yes. Tap Share list and send a private invitation link by text or email. The other person makes a free account and can add and check off items. Changes show up live on both phones.

Does Snap List show grocery sales near me?

Pro members can check local flyers and Walmart.ca prices for the items on their list, by Canadian postal code. Stores include Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore, Walmart, Foodland, Giant Tiger, Costco, No Frills, and Co-op.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Snap List runs in the web browser on any phone, tablet, or computer, so there is nothing to download.

Can I use it for lists other than groceries?

Yes. Pro members can make packing, classroom, office, and custom lists. Photo scanning works on every list type.

Can I add items by voice?

Yes. Tap the mic button and say your items, such as "milk, eggs and bread". Each one becomes its own item. This works in browsers that support dictation, like Chrome and Safari.
